Olive was my dog and my devoted companion for twelve years. She was a bedlington terrier filled with love, humor and grace. I often described her as “terrier light” for she had none of the tightly wound characteristics of the many other wonderful and very popular terriers. She loved people and, given the chance, would greet every person in any room or space that she entered. Her wonderful traits are unexaggerated. Olive was different from any other dog that I had ever known before.
Olive had her own individual relationship with each one of her human friends. I was often reminded of this when strangers would stop in the street to speak with Olive and they would not say a word to me.
Olive was always happy to make a new friend but she never forgot an old one. And once Olive graced your life, you could never forget her either.
